Worship Prayers for October 8 and 9

 CENTERING PRAYER

Past, Present, and Future God, help us to remember home and to hope in the promised land, that we might know you our Alpha and our Omega. Amen.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Come and see what God has done.

God is awesome in God’s deeds.

God turned the sea into dry land.

God’s people passed through the river on foot.

Make a joyful noise to God all the earth.

Sing the glory of God’s name.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. We keep our distance from you, for we are broken and sick with sin. Yet, you see us, you cleanse us, and you make us whole. Forgive us when we forget to return to you, have mercy when we fail to praise your name, and help us to live out the faith that makes us well. (Silent Confession)

OFFERING

Practicing gratitude can change our lives as individuals; it can change our life as a congregation. With a spirit of gratitude we present our tithes, gifts, and offerings. Let us pray…

We give you all praise, o Lord God. You give us more than we can imagine. Make us truly thankful for everything you provide, and bless these gifts we return to you. May they be good news to the poor, help for the hopeless, and signs of your power in the world. We ask all things in the name of Christ. Amen.
