PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP:  

Eternal God, you have called us to be members of one body.  Join us with those who in all times and places have praised your name, that, with one heart and mind, we may show the unity of your church, and bring honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  AMEN

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:      Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.

People:      We will serve the Lord with gladness; and come before Him with joyful singing,

Leader:      We are God's people and the sheep of His pasture.

People:      We will enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.

Leader:      Let us give thanks to God and bless His name.

People:      Our Lord is good; His loving kindness is everlasting,

Leader:      Let us sing to the One who is faithful to all generations.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, after all of the ways we have dreamed up to hurt You, it would serve us right if You would not want to have anything to do with us.  You should have left us to destroy ourselves and each other.  We thank You Lord that You did not give us what we deserve.  We thank You that Your love for us has never waned.  Give us a clear understanding of all the things that You have had to forgive in us and help us to respond to Your call to us with gratitude and love.  Thank You for loving us and for coming after us when we ran from You.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
