Worship Prayers April 26, 2015

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP:
O God, Source of Life:  In the barrenness of our hearts your love cascades forth, overwhelming all in its path.  May the dormant seeds of trust, hope, and love swell and blossom when permeated by your nurturing care; through Christ our Savior, to whom with you and the Spirit, one Holy God, be honor and praise, now and forever.  Amen
 CALL TO WORSHIP
Although we turn from God, God never turns from us.  Although we consider ourselves beyond redemption, God eagerly seeks us out to bless our lives with goodness and kindness.  For we are the sheep of God’s pasture, the work of God’s hands, beloved in God’s sight.  Let us worship the one whose love will never let us go.
 PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O God of promise and fulfillment, you command us to pray for the coming of your Spirit, and yet we confess our reluctance to watch and wait.  O God of power and might, you invite us to pray for the coming of your kingdom, and yet we acknowledge our unwillingness to witness and work.  O God of cross and crown, wind and fire, you reveal yourself to us in ordinary and extravagant ways, and yet at times we do not perceive your presence,  hear your voice, receive your blessing, or share your love with others.  Forgive us, in the name of the One who is seated at your right hand, even Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
