Worship Prayers for May 31

THE TIME OF CENTERING:  Loving and Beloved God, in the resurrection of Christ you have overcome the powers of this world and shown your saving love for all people.  As Christ has loved us, may we remain in his love, growing in love for one another; through Christ your Incarnate Love, to whom with you and the Spirit, one holy God, be honor and praise now and forever.  Amen.

  

CALL TO WORSHIP

In the midst of our everyday, we are faced with choices and possibilities.  Creativity and hope are bubbling within us.  Each day brings opportunities to lift us, to fascinate us, to challenge our relationships, our minds, our bodies.  May we strive to see beyond our limitations.  May that which lies waiting in our hearts come to abundant life within and through us.  May we live into each new day the fullness of each possibility.  Amen.

   PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We confess that we have failed to concentrate on you, O God.  Our attention has wandered from you.  Our hearts and minds have withdrawn from you.  We confess that our own concerns have usually taken priority over the needs of other.  Our comforts have seemed more important than the struggles of our brothers and sisters.  Forgive us.  Mend us.  Redirect us, our Creator and God, to love you first, to love others, to love ourselves.  Make these our targets.  Amen.
