Rejoice

Christmas 1929 S.E.

Philippians 4:4-6New International Version (NIV)

Final Exhortations

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Tinsel Morning

Each tinseled morning
With the untying
Of colorful packages
By time-worn hands
Brings a vivid unfolding
Of remembered days

Children's eager faces
Dolls, skates, scattered papers
Flavors from the oven
Seeping through the house
Choir robes mended
The creche for the pageant. . . .
