 CENTERING PRAYER

 

Almighty God, whose ways are far beyond our understanding, help us to trust your judgments so we may do your will by loving you and one another. Help us to remember your Word, your will, and your way. In Jesus name, we lift up this prayer. Amen.

 

 

CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 136)

 

O give thanks to the LORD, for God is good,

God’s steadfast love endures forever.

O give thanks to the God of gods,

God’s steadfast love endures for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords,

God’s steadfast love endures for ever;

who alone does great wonders,

God’s steadfast love endures for ever;

Come, let us worship our God together.

 

 

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

 

Lord God, while we were still slaves to sin, you died for our salvation. Yet, we still worship the false gods of the world, forgetting you alone are Lord. Loving worldly wealth, we do not love you with our whole heart nor do we love our neighbors as ourselves. Trusting worldly strength, we do not trust your word and do not follow your Word-made-flesh. Forgiving by worldly norms, we do not show mercy to others. Forgive us yet again, we pray in Christ’s name. (Silent Confession)

Invitation to the Offering

 

Let us be glad in our Maker and rejoice in our King. Let us praise God’s name with dancing and music; let us bring to God our tithes, offerings, and gifts.

 

Prayer after Offering

 

Let us pray. Ever-present God, we ask you to accept these offerings we bring. May you use them to grow your church and build your kingdom. We ask this in the name above all names, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
