One of the homes on St. Mark's Holiday House Tour was energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The landscaping was all Missouri native plants and it used geo-thermal heating and cooling.
A beautiful mural was painted on one of the walls---the owner had small signs explaining things like the kind of paint, flooring (bamboo and re-processed carpet) that was used and why it was better for the environment. And, all of it elegant!
There was even a large fish tank with fish and coral that had been acquired in a "friendly way".
Another of the homes had a surprise upstairs---an art studio where the owner creates her glass jewelry and art.
Although Lynn wasn't selling anything on Tour Day, she did have explanations on how her work was created. She will be having an Open House on Dec. 15 if anyone is interested in buying her art. Both homes were very interesting in that they were informative in addition to being beautifully decorated.
