Christmas Alternatives Mission Projects

Our Mission Committee at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, has several ongoing projects during the Christmas season.  First, they offer Christmas Alternatives, a way we can donate to charitable missions in stead of Christmas gifts. So, your aunt who likes to garden, might like a pound of earthworms for our mission in Haiti:  maybe you could include some gummy worms with your card.  Here are some of the other mission offerings:

Support Terri Rider in India working with dalits.

Support Jed Koball in Peru

Books, school supplies, board games, sports equipment for Children's Home in Farmington
New blouse/shirt, sweater, personal care for Children's Home

Scholarship, a well, medical supplies, transportation to a school for Hard of Hearing in Africa

Vaccination, Nutrition, Medicine for Malaria, Train a nurse, Train a mid wife, buy a limb, rehab for disabled, restore site, maternity care

Mulberry trees, earthworms, rabbits, goats, hens, ducks, rabbit shed, goat shed, chicken coop in Haiti

Scholarship Plan Grande Nicaragua

Other possibilities include tangible gifts which can be purchased:  chocolate, coffee, tea, nuts, olive oil and dried pineapple.   These are all organic, equal exchange, Fair Trade.  The profits benefit our youth's summer mission trip.  There are gift baskets or individual items which will be available until December 15.
