PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP: Beginner of all things, begin again in us: take these tired limbs and rouse them to dance, from sunbreak to sundown, with your joy. Bless us, O Blessed One: that we may shake off our disease; that we may know the splendor of your love and offer it to one another; through Christ who is your blessing and our joy. Amen
One: In the beginning our God created the light.
Many: Morning broke open on the first day.
One: This God of ours sent the light.
Many: Jesus the Christ came to the world’s people.
One: Morning light opens for us.
Many: God’s light illumines our lives; and opens us to worship this day.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Holy and Merciful God, in your presence we confess our failure to be what you created us to be. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. By your loving mercy, help us to live in your light and abide in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen
