ABC Sale Fun

The ABC Sale (July 10 and 11) at St. Mark Presbyterian Church not only benefits local charities, but it is also a fun place to work.  This year, like every year, we get things that make us go "huh?"
Some things, like the baby teeth in a jewelry box above, were accidentally donated.  Some of the humor is created by our workers, like the display of Father's Day cards with Christmas Cards and the math in the sign for chair pads.

We also get "vintage" clothes like the Gunne Sax dress below, interesting costumes like the one for a boa constrictor and the impromptu fashion shows are always fun.  "Scarlet O'Hara" even found some lovely draperies in Housewares that would make a ball gown!

We can't help but think this is a great place for White Elephant gifts like the pelt below, several red noses, a fun coin purse and a serving plate with ants!

And, at the end of Saturday, everything was donated to other charitable organizations like Kidney Foundation, Shoes for Hope, a prison ministry, Isaiah 58, Larry Rice's New Life Evangelistic Center, Assistance League, The St. Louis County Parole Board, St. Louis County Public Library and St. Vincent de Paul's.  The Deacons will disperse all of the money to various local charities.  (Click here to see where last year's financial donations went.
