Wishes and Prayers

"Wishes are made in moments of wonder and desperation. Wishes are prayers without a salutation and minus an amen."
-John David Anderson, Granted

Since as long as I can remember I've made wishes on the soft white puffs of dandelion seeds. This morning, those little white puffs seemed to be popped up all over the neighborhood. I got to thinking about the wish itself. When I make a wish, who or what have I been telling my wishes to? The best I could figure is wishing is a lot like prayer depending on what you believe. It's a glimmer of hope somewhere inside that wants to be released. #notetoselftoday
