Our Pentecost Offering is dedicated to children at risk, youth and young adult programs. Forty percent of St. Mark's offering goes to the Children's Foundation of Mid-America (formerly known as Presbyterian Children's Home). This foundation serves 1800 children and families in Missouri for residential treatment, community programs, foster care management (350 families statewide).
One program serving over 300 families in the St. Louis area is their In Home Therapeutic Program which is a 12 week intervention program with professionals counseling families 4-5 hours a week. There is also a Preventive Mentoring Program which uses individuals with degrees in social work, criminal justice, psychology and education. This year's theme, "So I Send You" (John 20:21), reminds us that as Jesus was sent by god to heal a hurting world, we, too, are called to that same task. Through gifts to the Pentecost Offering, we act to make tangible, positive changes in our community, our church, and our world. Please use that special envelope and give generously.
