This chapter is about Samuel and his call. Although dedicated to God as a child, when he got the call he said,"Here I am Lord!" It is also about the Israelites thinking they needed a king to think for them, to speak for them. This is a little like us today thinking our elected officials should make decisions for us. We need to keep our voice and answer the call, "Here I am Lord!"
