Worship Prayers for Feb. 22 and 23

CENTERING PRAYER God of righteousness, you overcome those who abuse their power and lift up
those who suffer. Even now, when evil seems to hold sway, we know you will have the last word. Keep us faithful as we wait and watch for your coming realm, when you will welcome all your children into your kingdom of justice, peace, and love. Amen.

CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 9) Let us give thanks to the Lord with our whole hearts; we will tell of all your wonderful deeds. We will be glad and exult in you. We will sing praise to your name, O Most High. The Lord sits enthroned forever, God has established his throne for judgment. The Lord judges the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity. Let us worship our God together.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Saving God, we are your people, yet the world cannot see this. We are your children, and fail to live in peace. We are your voices and choose to be silent. We are your hands and feet and walk a different road. Forgive us, for ignoring your love, for brushing aside your hand and trusting our own wisdom. Enable us to worship you in spirit and in truth, to bring to you our joyful songs in the everyday moments of our lives; that your name might be glorified through our words and lives. (Silent Confession)

CHARGE AND BLESSING † CONGREGATIONAL BENEDICTION RESPONSE Shalom to you now, shalom, my friends. May God’s full mercies bless you my friends. In all your living and through your loving, Christ be your Shalom, Christ be your Shalom.
