Worship June 6

June 7, 2020
ORDER OF WORSHIP

CENTERING PRAYER God of courage, you gave Esther the strength to speak out and the intelligence she needed to save her people. Help us to believe you are still present and active in the world and that your grace remains as an everlasting force in our lives. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ who promises to be with us always. Amen.

WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP   Psalm 30
You have turned our sorrow into dancing.
You have taken off our sackcloth and clothed us with joy.
Our souls praise you. They will not be silent.
O Lord my God, we will give thanks to you for ever.
Come! Let us worship the God of our salvation together.

† HYMN    “God of Grace and God of Glory”    Hymnal #307

PRAYER OF CONFESSION God of unity, we live in a world where our lives move between inclusivity and exclusivity. We often exclude those we are called to love, trying to oust from our circles those who do not think like us, act like us, or look like us. Forgive us our need to reject and those times we are on the lookout for things that divide. Give us your eyes, O Holy God, that we might see your creation with unconditional love and compassion. It is in your most powerful name we pray. (Silent Confession)
