LITURGY OF THE ADVENT WREATH: Joy

 From Psalm 97
One: The Lord be with you.
MANY: And also with you.
One: The Lord reigns; let the earth rejoice!
MANY: God preserves the lives of the saints.
One: Light dawns for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
MANY: Rejoice in the Lord and give thanks to God’s holy name.

Advent Prayer In Unison
Ancient of Days, we are reminded of your people long ago, who through years of darkness and despair clung to the assurance of your love for them as they waited and hoped for a Messiah. We live with the certainty our Savior has come. And yet we too live in anticipation as we wait for Christ to return in glory. Turn our hearts to you, Lord; help us to order our lives so that we may truly be people of your kingdom. Amen

Lighting the Candle: All Sing
O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel!
