Refuge

Sunday was St. Mark Presbyterian's 3rd Annual Christmas Tea benefitting Lydia's House which provides transitional shelter and training for abused women and their children.

Psalm 46New Revised Standard Version (NRSV

God is our refuge and strength,
    a very present[a] help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
    though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
    though the mountains tremble with its tumult.Selah

Thank you to Vox Solus ensemble from Lafayette High School and  members of the Marquette and Lafayette High School National Honor Societies and the youth at St. Mark for serving and entertaining.  Thanks also to the St. Mark Presbyterian committee and hostesses who provided such a beautiful setting.

Isaiah 25:4New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

For you have been a refuge to the poor,
    a refuge to the needy in their distress,
    a shelter from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat.
When the blast of the ruthless was like a winter rainstorm,
