Peace and Global Witness Offering
A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering (celebrating its 40th anniversary) enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Individual congregations retain 25% of this Offering, serving issues within their community. The Presbyterian Mission Agency utilizes their portion of funding to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.
Here in St. Louis a portion of St. Mark’s offering goes to Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, which offers a continuum of care for youth—transitional living services for youth leaving foster care, mentoring, and intensive in-home care for families in crisis. Annually over 2,000 clients are served. Give generously to assist with this work.
How PCHAS helped…
Most fathers are bound by a commitment to do the best they can for their children. Serving families and fathers, like Samuel, is what Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services does.
Samuel was thrust back into parenting after his adult daughter and her husband were killed in a car accident. The couple left behind two devastated children. With no other options, Samuel immediately became a father to his orphaned grandsons. He was forced to deal with the trauma of losing a child and raising two young boys simultaneously.
This difficult transition proved to be more than Samuel believed he could handle. He knew he needed help and contacted PCHAS. Samuel focused on learning new parenting skills and developed the tools he needed to help his grandsons heal from their trauma. Today, Samuel and his children are thriving!
St Mark is proud to support PCHAS by sharing a portion of the Peace and Global Witness Offering.
