Red Tent

 Twice a month a St. Mark Presbyterian women's group, "The Red Tent" meets.  Pastor Susan leads the lesson and discussion.  We just concluded Adam Hamilton's Not a Silent Night about Mary and Jesus' birth.  We discussed how his birthing was not ideal even by the standards of that era.  Mary should have been at home surrounded by her sisters, mother, aunts, midwife.  Instead, she was in a stable behind a tavern with none of the soothing sounds, smells, touch her family would have given her.
