The session at St. Mark Presbyterian discussed moving forward with the next stage of the interim process. During the next couple of months the session will identify members of the congregation to serve on a Mission Study Team. The Mission Study Team will lead the congregation in a time of self-study and reflection that will help the church embrace a new beginning and future ministry.
Beginning in early 2016, the Mission Study Team will conduct an internal analysis of church membership, finances, and missions, and engage church members through surveys and conversations about life at St. Mark and its ministry. These conversations will help the church gain clarity about its core values; recognized the cultural and changes taking place in the world and how it affects St. Mark’s current and future possibilities for growth; and identify the congregation’s hopes and dreams for the future so the church can develop a strategic plan for the next 3-5 years.
This process of self-study and reflection should take about 6-8 months. Once it is complete, the church will be ready to begin the search for an installed pastor.
